Reply Desk: open-source AI tool drafts review replies for small shops, running fully in-browser

Reply Desk is a review-reply assistant built for small businesses such as cafes, salons and clinics that depend on Google and Zomato reviews but lack time to respond. The tool flags urgent complaints about food safety, health, money or staff behaviour and moves them to the top, then classifies each review's mood as positive, mixed or negative. It drafts replies in the owner's voice, signed with their name, and directs unhappy customers to a private contact rather than public debate. It runs on the open-weight Gemma 3 1B model inside the browser, requiring no account, API key, server or data upload. The developer's submission was made for the Hacktoberfest Open-Source AI Challenge, and the project's code is publicly available on GitHub.

As Test Suites Grow, Teams Struggle to Keep Their Results Trustworthy

A DEV Community article argues that as software projects grow, automated test suites become larger, slower, and harder to maintain. Teams often face hundreds of tests with repeated failures, making it difficult to tell genuine bugs from broken locators, outdated data, environment issues, or flaky tests. The author, writing for X360 AI Tech, suggests that execution details such as logs, screenshots, network activity, and videos can help teams investigate failures more efficiently. The piece also stresses regularly reviewing suites to remove redundant or unstable tests, since more tests do not necessarily mean better coverage or feedback. The author concludes that maintaining trust in test results matters as much as adding new tests.

Why game codes pages draw heavy traffic and lose it just as fast

A codes page can attract large volumes of search traffic because players want free in-game items immediately, but that same audience leaves as soon as the codes stop working. The author found that stale codes drive visitors away for good, so speed and freshness matter more than background content. Placing the codes at the top with a visible timestamp and a brief note on what changed improved the page's usefulness. The author also recommends marking expired codes instead of deleting them, since one dead code can erode trust in the rest of the list. Treating the page as a hub that links to deeper reference material is presented as the way to earn repeat visits.
