On October 26, Thomas van Tonder completed a crossing beneath Bloukrans Bridge by working his way along 600 monkey bars over a 280-metre course. The demanding route put his grip strength, stamina and mental resolve to the test. He had spent two years preparing for the challenge. He finished in 47 minutes and 37 seconds, demonstrating his skill in extreme obstacle racing.
