Students Return to Protest After Alleging Police Used Spiked Lathis at Delhi March

Students participating in the Citizens for Justice and Peace's 'Sansad Chalo' march returned to Jantar Mantar on Tuesday carrying injuries sustained during a police lathicharge the previous day. Several protesters alleged that police used lathis fitted with nails and screws during the crackdown. Female students additionally accused women police personnel of slapping them during the incident. A stampede-like situation reportedly broke out near Janpath metro station as protesters fled the scene. Despite their injuries, students vowed to continue the demonstration, saying their cause was bigger than any single organisation.
