Google strikes largest rice-methane carbon credit deal with India's Mitti Labs

Google has signed its biggest-ever carbon credit agreement focused on reducing methane emissions from rice farming. The deal is with Indian startup Mitti Labs and spans a four-year period. The agreement covers rice-growing regions across three Indian states. At peak delivery, the project is expected to reach approximately 100,000 hectares of farmland.
