Free Web Tool Downloads TikTok Videos, MP3 Audio, Photo Slideshows and Batches

0
·4 views

A developer has released Viditok, a free web tool for saving public TikTok posts without requiring an account or software installation. Unlike many downloaders that only handle plain videos, it converts video posts to watermark-free HD MP4 or up to 320 kbps MP3, and packages photo slideshows as an MP3 plus a ZIP of all images. A batch mode lets users process up to 20 links at once, and the interface supports six languages, including right-to-left Arabic. The creator notes the tool only works with public content and that most public TikTok videos are not served above HD, so claims of true 4K are typically upscaling. The project is independent of TikTok, and the developer is requesting community feedback on features to add.

Why Ctrl+C in a coding agent does different things: raw mode and the terminal's ISIG flag

A DEV Community article explains that pressing Ctrl+C in Claude Code can clear a draft or exit depending on context, which a standard Unix SIGINT cannot decide. Normally the kernel's terminal driver converts the Ctrl+C byte (0x03) into a SIGINT sent to the whole foreground process group. When the ISIG flag is disabled, the byte is delivered to the program as ordinary input, so the program chooses the response. The author demonstrates this with stty and a short sleep test, and notes that terminal UIs use raw mode, which clears ISIG, to receive every keystroke immediately. The piece then reconstructs the agent's behaviour in a small Node.js script that handles the Ctrl+C byte itself.

Why wrapping every API endpoint as an agent tool can backfire

The article argues that exposing each backend endpoint as a separate agent tool creates shallow interfaces that push multi-step logic onto the model. Such designs inflate context with tool schemas, compound error rates across long chains, and leak business rules into prompts that models may ignore. The author recommends deeper, task-shaped tools for customer-facing automation that handles money, with invariants enforced in code. Cited evidence, including a non-peer-reviewed Meta preprint, is described as suggestive rather than a controlled comparison. The piece suggests merging frequently sequential tools and moving prompt rules into tool-level checks as practical steps.

Grey County Project Links Council Agendas, Recordings and Documents Into Searchable Meeting Records

A civic coding project aims to let residents trace a council decision from its meeting notice through the agenda item, recorded discussion, and supporting documents. Its inventory covered 84 retained Grey County meetings, with 83 having agenda PDFs and 74 listing video URL fields. Because official links can change or go dead, the system gives each meeting a stable identity and preserves file copies under content-based links. When a meeting had an agenda but no recording, the pipeline generated a structured HTML summary from the agenda PDF alone. The team designed the system so an agenda package alone is enough to create a valid, navigable meeting record.

OPAL policy distribution can expose credentials beyond policy text

OPAL sits between policy sources and policy agents, pushing policy and data updates from Git repositories or API bundles to clients that load them into agents such as OPA. Because the same channel can carry source credentials and policy data, the control plane is a sensitive, high-value target. Internet exposure counts from ZoomEye, taken on 2026-11-04, were broad and do not confirm internet-facing OPAL servers, though they help prioritize candidates. OPAL data source configurations can contain bearer tokens or other secrets, which should be kept in a secrets store, and redirects can carry client JWTs in query parameters, making HTTPS essential. The article recommends inventorying servers, clients, topics and sources, restricting server reachability, verifying active policy revisions after updates, and testing fail-closed behavior under failed fetches and disconnections.
