Developer builds Duo-Man, a virtual Walkman app for the foldable iPhone Duo

Developer Vidit Bhargava has created Duo-Man, an app for the foldable iPhone Duo using the new BitRig development environment. The app uses hinge state events to mimic the cassette-door behavior of classic Walkman players. Its features include interface control through APIs for the 7.6-inch internal display, and audio feedback built from real field recordings. It also integrates with Apple Music and local files, and supports Apple Pencil to simulate physically spinning a cassette tape reel.

CSS alpha(): serve davvero o è solo zucchero sintattico?

AI, Quantum Computing and Biotech Seen as Key Technologies for the Next Decade

Emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing and biotechnology are increasingly moving from research labs into commercial products. AI is evolving from single-task tools toward agentic systems that can plan steps, use tools and revise their own results toward a goal. Quantum computers exploit superposition and entanglement to tackle specific hard problems like molecular simulation, though qubits remain fragile and error-prone. Biotechnology, now heavily data-driven, depends on bioinformatics, which makes it a valuable skill for computer science students. The article also highlights that all three fields demand large computing power, which cloud infrastructure increasingly provides.

RecallForge: an offline, open-source study workspace with source-linked practice

The developer built RecallForge, a free and open-source tool that helps learners repeat cycles of practice, mistake review and revision. The browser-based viewer works without an account, storing study data locally in the browser and functioning offline once opened. It includes sample packs on investment fundamentals, technical analysis, financial risk and Cell Biology, though these are demonstrations rather than official exam material. Learners can study with immediate feedback or sit timed exams, and can build focused retests from wrong or skipped questions. The article also stresses that browser-local data can be lost when browser data is cleared or devices change, which is why portable encrypted or plain JSON backups are provided.

TierMenu: flat rate pricing software for small HVAC, plumbing and electrical shops

Many small trade shops set prices from memory or outdated spreadsheets, so technicians often quote the same job differently. TierMenu is a flat rate pricing tool built for shops with one to five technicians. Shops enter labor rates and parts costs, then build a price book where each task gets labor hours, parts and an optional fixed fee, with tiered markups available. On site, technicians present up to four options that homeowners can compare, select, extend and sign electronically, with signed PDFs locked afterward. The app also converts approved proposals into invoices, manages membership renewals and reports which options customers choose, while leaving scheduling, payroll and card processing to existing tools.
