CopilotKit Launches OpenBot, an Open-Source AI Agent Platform with Built-In Security

CopilotKit has released OpenBot, an open-source platform that deploys AI agents as autonomous coworkers within enterprise infrastructure using Docker Compose and PostgreSQL. Each agent operates inside an isolated Docker container with its own browser session and private workspace, preventing any interference with the host system. A central security gateway evaluates every command, file access, and web navigation request using Common Expression Language policies before execution, with all actions logged in a searchable audit ledger. When agents encounter high-risk situations such as two-factor authentication or CAPTCHAs, human operators can take over directly from the web interface before returning control to the agent. OpenBot supports multiple AI frameworks including LangGraph, CrewAI, and Pydantic AI through the open AG-UI protocol, and its source code is publicly available on GitHub.
