Minor held for sexual assault and murder of 9-year-old boy in Tamil Nadu

A 17-year-old has been arrested in Pudukkottai, Tamil Nadu, in connection with the sexual assault and murder of a nine-year-old boy. The victim, a Class IV student, had gone missing while playing in the area before being found dead with visible injuries. Police traced the suspect after questioning the victim's playmates, which led them to the teenage accused. The suspect allegedly confessed to the crime, stating he attacked the boy after his advances were rejected. The case is being investigated under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act along with murder charges.
