Databricks raises $5B at $190B valuation after investor demand surged
Databricks, the AI and data analytics company, has closed a $5 billion funding round at a valuation of $190 billion. The company originally intended to raise only $1 billion, but overwhelming investor interest pushed the final figure far higher. At one point, investors were collectively seeking to put in as much as $15 billion. CEO Ali Ghodsi acknowledged that AI infrastructure is costly, citing that as a key reason for accepting more capital than initially planned. The outsized demand reflects the continued investor appetite for major AI-focused enterprises.
