Centre puts Delhi hospitals on alert as Sonam Wangchuk fast enters third week

The Central government has placed Delhi hospitals on high alert as Sonam Wangchuk's hunger strike enters its third week. Central government hospitals have been directed to conduct health checks on hunger strikers twice daily. Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital has been designated as the nodal facility for handling any medical emergencies arising from the protest. Advanced life support ambulances will remain on standby at the protest site, and medical teams will submit daily health reports to the ministry. This move follows a request from Delhi Police, citing growing concerns over the health of the protesters.

A tower crane collapsed at an under-construction building in Mira Road East, Mumbai, on Thursday night. The incident claimed the life of a 21-year-old man and left another person seriously injured. The crane fell partially within the construction site and into a nearby residential parking area. Multiple cars and two-wheelers parked in the housing complex sustained damage as a result.
