YouTube may be testing a move of the dislike button into a submenu

YouTube appears to be experimenting with hiding the dislike button on videos, according to a report from 9to5Google. Several users have shared screenshots showing the button moved into the three-dots submenu, and one Reddit user reported that it was missing entirely. Under normal conditions the dislike button sits beside the like button, so relocating it would require extra steps to reach. The change would likely reduce how often viewers use the dislike option. The article presents the proposal as one that appears to guard against runaway AI while limiting regulators' direct power to intervene.
