Yellowstone-Yukon wildlife corridor project nominated for 2026 Earthshot Prize

The Yellowstone to Yukon Conservation Initiative has been nominated for Prince William's Earthshot Prize in 2026. The project focuses on restoring a 3,400-kilometre wildlife corridor running through the Rocky Mountains. So far, it has built over 200 wildlife crossings and protected approximately 24 million hectares of land. Indigenous communities play a central role in shaping and strengthening the initiative's conservation efforts. The project aims to protect an additional 20 million hectares by 2030.
