Retail Inflation Rises to 4.45% in July, Stays Above RBI Target Second Month

India's retail inflation climbed to 4.45% in July 2026, exceeding the Reserve Bank of India's target for the second consecutive month. Government suspends Table Tennis federation recognition over governance failures

The Indian government has suspended the recognition of the Table Tennis Federation of India due to governance-related concerns. The Ministry directed the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) to intervene in the matter. The IOA has been asked to form an ad-hoc committee to manage the administration of table tennis in India. Additionally, the company was ordered to pay compensation totalling Rs 26,000, which includes Rs 15,000 specifically for causing mental harassment to the customer.
