VisionQuantech launches 139 free business tools for Indian SMEs with static codebase

VisionQuantech has released a business suite containing 139 free tools for Indian small businesses covering GST, accounting, HR, and invoicing. The entire application is built as a static website using only HTML, vanilla JavaScript, and CSS without any backend server or external dependencies. This architecture ensures user privacy by preventing data transmission to external servers while maintaining functionality through eight core modules handling design, storage, and metering. Each tool follows a strict development contract requiring pure functions and comprehensive testing, resulting in 376 passing Node assertions. The project currently operates client-side with a stubbed premium payment system, while enterprise features remain in documentation.

Guide outlines methods to run multiple separate Claude AI accounts simultaneously

A developer details methods to run multiple Claude accounts on desktop and terminal simultaneously. The core issue is that the official apps store login data in a single directory per system, forcing users to sign out and in to switch accounts. The standard solution involves directing each account's instance to a separate, unique data directory via environment variables or command-line arguments. This can be done manually via shell commands or automated with scripts and aliases for convenience. The article explains why simpler workarounds fail and emphasizes the need for complete application separation.

Migrating from Clerk to Better Auth requires a rebuild, not just a library swap

A developer explains that migrating from Clerk authentication to Better Auth is more complex than a simple library replacement. Clerk is a hosted service providing pre-built UI and a managed user database, unlike library-based solutions. Moving away requires rebuilding UI components, re-implementing session logic, and migrating user data. The process is split into mechanical tasks, like updating imports, and a full rebuild of the auth system. The article provides a guide to scope this work accurately before beginning.

Developer creates script to filter demo content from local JSONL fixture

A developer wrote a Python script to prepare for a software demo scheduled before Sunday dinner. The script reads data from a local JSONL file and filters out lines not explicitly marked as verified fixtures. It displays only up to three validated lines while explicitly listing skipped features like retry loops and web interfaces. The approach ensures the demo shows only tested functionality rather than unverified model suggestions.

Docker Hub token flaw flagged user; signing allowed image verification.

A researcher disclosed a critical vulnerability in Docker Hub's access controls on September 30, which allowed one user to assume another's capabilities via personal tokens. Docker fixed the bug within hours and reported no signs of exploitation. The author received notifications on October 2 that their CI tokens would be force-deactivated due to the issue. This prompted them to rotate tokens and verify their published images using cryptographic signatures from their CI workflow. The verification process confirmed none of their 42 images had been tampered with.
