Vercel CLI evolves into programmable infrastructure tool for agents and automation

Vercel has been redesigning its CLI to move beyond simple deployment commands, transforming it into a programmable infrastructure layer suited for automated workflows and AI agents. New sandbox support lets users and agents spin up isolated environments for risky tasks like experimental builds or integration tests, then resume them later without affecting local or shared systems. A CLI-controllable feature flag system, Vercel Flags, now allows scripted progressive rollouts and A/B testing, enabling agents to gradually increase traffic to new features based on monitored results. The revamped vc curl command lets pipelines run HTTP requests against deployments using familiar curl syntax, making automated smoke testing and endpoint validation straightforward post-deploy. Vercel is also experimenting with native binaries for the CLI to reduce startup overhead and dependency issues common with Node-based tooling.
