VendorSense AI Agent Uses Memory of Past Human Approvals to Vet Invoices

A developer built VendorSense, an accounts payable AI agent that retains memory of past human-reviewed invoices to inform future decisions on new ones from the same vendor. The system uses a tool called Hindsight to retrieve relevant vendor history — including prior approvals, payment terms, and verified bank details — before reasoning about each new invoice. Rather than treating historical familiarity as a green light, the agent is designed to use past data as evidence while still evaluating each invoice on its own merits. A key safety feature flags any change in a vendor's bank account details, automatically routing such cases to a human reviewer regardless of the vendor's approval history. The prototype stops short of executing real payments, with auto-processing remaining a routing decision only.
