Uttarakhand's Remote Johar Valley Villages to Get Grid Power for First Time

Twelve remote villages in Uttarakhand's Johar Valley, located near the China border, are set to receive grid electricity for the first time. The Rs 21 crore electrification project covers a span of 61 kilometres across the valley. Around 180 seasonal residents and Indo-Tibetan Border Police personnel stationed in the area will benefit from the initiative. Power lines have already been extended to Rasgadi, with the village of Bugdiyar also scheduled for electrification in the near future.
