US Develops W93, Its First New Nuclear Warhead in Nearly 40 Years

The United States is developing the W93 nuclear warhead, its first new such weapon in nearly four decades, in partnership with the Navy. The program aims to modernize the country's submarine-launched ballistic missile capabilities, which have seen little advancement for over 30 years. Designated the W93/Mk7, the warhead is designed to enhance operational flexibility and strengthen America's sea-based nuclear deterrent.
