UN Documents Sexual Violence by Both Sides in Russia-Ukraine War

The United Nations has reported widespread sexual violence committed during the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, detailing severe abuses including rape and torture. According to the UN, 89 percent of documented cases were attributed to Russian actors, including military personnel, prison staff, and security agencies. The remaining 11 percent of cases were linked to members of the Ukrainian armed forces. The report highlights the use of sexual violence as a tool of war and detention-related abuse on both sides of the conflict.
