Ukrainian badminton duo compete at BWF Worlds after fleeing war-hit Kharkiv

Ukrainian badminton players Yevheniia Kantemyr and Polina Buhrova have been competing at the BWF World Championships in New Delhi while carrying the weight of personal hardship. The two athletes were forced to leave their hometown of Kharkiv after it was ravaged by the ongoing war in Ukraine. They relocated to Italy to continue their sporting careers and have since been representing Ukraine on the international stage. Competing at the New Delhi tournament, both players have spoken out against the inclusion of Russian athletes in global sporting events.
