MahaRERA orders builder to refund Rs 1.16 crore to two flat buyers with interest

The Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) has ordered a developer to refund Rs 1.16 crore to two homebuyers who paid for flats but never received possession. The regulator found that the housing project remained incomplete and its RERA registration had lapsed without being renewed. The buyers had made full or substantial payments but were left without their promised units. MahaRERA directed the builder to return the amounts along with applicable interest as compensation for the delay and non-delivery.
