AI agents consume thousands of tokens just to render and interpret a webpage before performing any useful action, such as clicking a button or filling a form. Every element on screen — banners, dropdowns, menus — must be described in tokens, creating a significant overhead cost that precedes any productive step. This cost is not a one-time expense; retries, scrolls, and interaction errors each trigger a full re-read of the page, multiplying token consumption. At small demo scales the impact is negligible, but in production environments with multiple users and workflows, the costs compound visibly on billing invoices.
