Kerala consumer panel orders matrimonial site to refund Rs 15K for unmet match promise

A Kerala consumer commission has ruled against a matrimonial website for deficiency in service after it failed to deliver on its promises. The site had guaranteed 100 matches to a subscriber but provided only 51 contacts during the subscription period. While the commission acknowledged that 51 contacts were delivered, it still upheld the finding of service deficiency. The refund amount was revised downward from what the district commission had originally ordered, settling at Rs 15,000. The matrimonial company's appeal was dismissed, and the deficiency ruling was confirmed.
