Chinese startup launches AI laser system that claims to kill mosquitoes mid-flight

Photon Matrix, a startup based in Changzhou, China, has opened preorders for a blue laser mosquito-killing device priced at $1,088, with an indoor infrared variant available at $988. The system uses LiDAR and AI vision technology to scan a six-metre arc, detect a mosquito within three milliseconds, and destroy it by burning its wings. The company claims the device can eliminate up to 30 mosquitoes per second even in complete darkness. Mass production of the product began in August. However, none of the performance or safety claims have been verified by independent testing.
