Text Studio's Clean tab tidies messy text files in the browser without uploading them

OnePassApps has added a Clean tab to its Text Studio, a browser-based tool for plain text that processes files locally rather than on a server. The tab offers five cleaning options, including normalizing line endings to LF, trimming trailing and outer whitespace, collapsing repeated blank lines, and removing blank lines. In a test, a deliberately untidy 40-character input was reduced to 23 characters while leaving internal indentation intact. Results can be copied, downloaded as a .txt file, or fed back in as input for further tools. The Standard plan is currently free under a promotional period with no end date and no card required.

Node.js Feature Flag Logging: Recording Game Session Decisions for Incident Replay

The article explains how a one-person SaaS can log feature flag checks in Node.js so a team can later reconstruct which result a game session received after a player reports a problem. It recommends emitting a single structured event at the evaluation point, containing the flag key, the returned state, and a stable session identifier, rather than logging every internal lookup or retry. The author argues this keeps evidence useful for incident analysis without flooding normal gameplay logs with noise. The approach is vendor-neutral and has stated limits: it cannot reconstruct decisions that were never emitted, and it does not replace durable configuration history when flag definitions change. Separating the decision made by the application from the recorder that observes it also ensures a logging failure does not alter gameplay.

Gaming Signups Should Track SMS Delivery and Verification as Separate Evidence

A gaming signup flow using SMS event notifications should keep two records apart: what happened to the message carrying the verification link, and whether the player actually completed verification. Blending them complicates both support investigations and compliance reviews. The article recommends retrieving SMS events by message ID, storing responses alongside an application-owned signup reference, and recording successful verification independently. It stresses that a delivery receipt alone should never activate a player account. The discussion is based on a proposed build flow and does not establish player age, legal identity, or jurisdictional eligibility.

Why stock API prices differ across apps and which price to use

A stock API does not provide one universal stock price, since returned values may reflect a completed trade, a bid or ask quote, or an aggregated historical bar. The article illustrates this with a synthetic stock whose latest trade, current bid and ask, and prior close each serve a different purpose. Developers should first define what each displayed number represents before comparing figures from different sources. Alerts, spread displays, and historical charts each require a distinct observation type and consistent conventions. Even when definitions are aligned, unexplained discrepancies still warrant investigation, and a quoted price does not guarantee execution.

Fine-Tuning a Small Safety Model for Coding Agents: Three Runs and Two Setbacks

A developer built laya-guard, a tool that sits between a coding agent and the shell to screen commands before execution. Simple rules handle clearly dangerous and clearly routine commands, while a 322M-parameter local model judges the rest. The first fine-tuning run was overly strict, flagging many everyday commands, while the second overcorrected and let several harmful commands through. The author traced each failure to gaps in the training data, including missing Windows commands, comments used as a signal of safety, and little coverage of credential leaks. A third run was needed to balance these trade-offs.
