Most people never receive a clear, grounded explanation of how technologies like AI recommendation systems or large language models actually function. Without accessible explanations, technology begins to feel like magic, which distorts public understanding and fuels both hype and fear. The article argues that meaningful tech media — content that explains mechanisms rather than aesthetics — remains one of the most underutilized opportunities in the industry. Notably, many of the most consequential technological advances, such as database optimizations or improved compression algorithms, look nothing like the futuristic visuals commonly used to represent them.
