T-Mobile CFO dismisses Starlink Mobile as no real threat to telecom industry

T-Mobile CFO Peter Osvaldik has publicly downplayed Starlink Mobile as a non-serious competitor in the wireless industry. He criticized SpaceX for frequently shifting its strategy and questioned the feasibility of its proposed infrastructure plans. Osvaldik pointed out that satellites face inherent physical limitations in urban settings, where buildings and structures can obstruct signals. SpaceX's plan to deploy a large number of small cell stations was also called out as impractical by T-Mobile. Overall, T-Mobile believes Starlink poses no convincing challenge to established telecom operators at this time.
