India has completed its first-ever national catalogue of butterflies and moths, documenting a total of 13,703 species. The landmark work was carried out by taxonomists Dr Rahul Joshi and Dr Navneet Singh from the Zoological Survey of India (ZSI). The final volume of the multi-part series has been published in the internationally peer-reviewed journal Zootaxa.
