The Indian government has informed the Supreme Court that its 20% ethanol blending programme is still in an experimental phase. Attorney General R Venkataramani represented the Centre before the court, arguing against judicial intervention in the allocation process at this stage. He cautioned that any court interference could disrupt the government's national ethanol blending policy. The Attorney General indicated that the full impact of the programme would become clearer by next year, according to PTI.
