Sindhu, Shetty reach BWF Worlds pre-quarters; Sen and Hooda exit early

Ayush Shetty and PV Sindhu advanced to the pre-quarterfinals of the BWF World Championships with straight-game victories. Shetty defeated Dumindu Abeywickrama and is set to face Alwi Farhan in the next round, while Sindhu overcame Wen Yu Zhang. However, Lakshya Sen was knocked out in a three-game upset loss to Garret Tan, and Unnati Hooda fell narrowly to Michelle Li. India's mixed doubles and men's doubles pairs also progressed further in the tournament.
