Indian shooter Neeru Dhanda made history by winning the gold medal in the women's trap individual event at the 2026 Asian Games. She delivered a flawless performance, hitting all five of her opening shots and staying composed through the final round. The gold marks India's first individual gold medal at these Asian Games. Prior to her individual triumph, Dhanda had also contributed to the Indian women's trap team's silver medal finish earlier in the competition.

Greg Reising has spent nearly three decades transforming his 100-acre property near Kinkaid Lake, Illinois, into a conservation site since 1995. He converted former farmland by introducing native prairie plants and planting thousands of trees to restore the natural landscape. His efforts were driven in part by serious erosion and sedimentation issues affecting the Kinkaid Lake watershed, which prompted collaboration with multiple agencies. Reising received support through the Environmental Quality Incentives Program, which funded streambank stabilization and habitat restoration work. The cumulative impact of these initiatives now helps protect the drinking water supply for approximately 30,000 people.
