Saharanpur mother, 28 years on, seeks empathy for caregivers of special-needs children

Kiran Malhotra of Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, has spent 28 years as the primary caregiver for her son Kashish, who has required special care since birth. She previously also cared for her paralyzed husband for nearly a decade until his passing. Now aging, Kiran finds the physical and emotional demands of caregiving increasingly difficult to manage alone. Through her story, she hopes to draw attention to the struggles faced by mothers in similar caregiving roles. She calls for greater empathy and societal understanding for parents devoted to the lifelong care of their children.
