Sachin Pilot Replaces Bhupesh Baghel as Punjab Congress In-Charge

Sachin Pilot has been appointed as the new Punjab Congress in-charge, replacing Bhupesh Baghel in the role. Baghel had only taken on the position in February 2025, making his tenure relatively brief. During his time in charge, Baghel favoured retaining Raja Warring as the state party president. However, he faced resistance from rival factions within the Punjab Congress, including the camp led by former Chief Minister Charanjit Channi. The internal opposition is understood to have been a key factor behind the leadership change.
