Rosatom completes supply of ESFAS safety equipment for Kudankulam units 3 and 4

Russia's state nuclear corporation Rosatom has finished delivering the Engineered Safety Features Actuation System equipment for units 3 and 4 of the Kudankulam nuclear plant. About 300 items were manufactured and shipped to the site. Each power unit, which uses VVER-1000 reactors, receives four sets of ESFAS cabinets matching its number of safety instrumentation and control trains. The system's role is to monitor a unit's process parameters and respond when conditions deviate from normal operation.
