Developer Shares Lessons from Shipping Three AI Side Project MVPs

A developer describes building over a dozen AI side projects, of which only three reached real users within two months. Their first project, a meeting-notes summarizer, stalled after weeks spent on fine-tuning, vector databases, and frontend polish rather than user needs. Their second project, a tool that extracts decisions from Slack conversations, was built in 48 hours as a single API call and attracted sixteen users in its first week. The developer concludes that stripped-down, "sad path" versions that solve a concrete problem matter more than sophisticated infrastructure, and reports modest API costs for the projects.

Inserting Records with JooqTemplate in Java

JooqTemplate is a library that lets developers insert database records without code generation or XML configuration. Its setup involves adding a Gradle or Maven dependency and autowiring the template into a class. Records are inserted by passing a Map of field names and values to the insert method, which returns 1 on success. Fields left unset are written as null, and JooqMaps helpers can convert camelCase beans into snake_case maps, optionally preserving null values. Passing an empty map still inserts a record with default or null fields, while a null map or unknown table name triggers an exception.

RPKI Coverage Reaches 70% of Internet Routes, Up From 54% a Year Earlier

The share of internet routes protected by Resource Public Key Infrastructure (RPKI) has risen to roughly 70%, according to an IPinfo blog post. That is up from about 54% a year before. RPKI is a cryptographic system that helps networks verify that routing announcements come from the legitimate holder of an IP address block. Greater adoption makes it harder for attackers or misconfigurations to hijack traffic by falsely advertising routes. The source article provides only the headline figures and no further details on the measurement methodology.
