Jharkhand Protest Turns Violent: Devendra Mahto Hospitalised After Police Lathicharge

A protest near the Jharkhand assembly turned violent on Monday, leaving several demonstrators and four police personnel injured. Job aspirants had gathered to protest alleged irregularities in state recruitment examinations. Police deployed water cannons, tear gas, and lathi charges to disperse the crowd. Protest leader Devendra Mahto was subsequently hospitalised, with his aide Pankaj Kumar claiming he sustained injuries during the police lathicharge near the assembly premises.
