Fraudsters Impersonate Payments Body Officials in Rs 1.46 Crore Scam

A fraud case worth Rs 1.46 crore has been reported in which scammers posed as officials from a payments regulatory body to deceive a victim. The accused allegedly approached the victim with promises of a policy premium refund along with high financial returns. The fraudulent activity is said to have taken place over an extended period, from September 5, 2024 to August 11, 2025. Authorities are investigating the case, which highlights a growing trend of impersonation-based financial fraud targeting individuals with lucrative but false investment promises.
