Pune Man Arrested for Allegedly Lacing 15,000 Pills With Poison at Mumbai Muharram Rally

A 39-year-old man from Pune has been arrested by Mumbai police for allegedly distributing poison-laced pills during a Muharram procession. Authorities say he arrived in Mumbai two weeks before the incident and procured a large quantity of zinc phosphide. Police seized close to 15,000 pills, which investigators believe were assembled inside his hotel room. The pills were allegedly intended to cause mass harm to procession attendees. Two individuals who consumed the pills have since reported symptoms consistent with poisoning.
