A security checklist for Cursor Teams and Enterprise covers ten admin controls, including Privacy Mode, sandbox configuration, network policy, hooks, and MCP server review. Each item lists where the setting lives, its default, and its blind spots. The guidance stresses that .cursorignore and rules are advisory rather than enforced protections. Privacy Mode restricts training and retention but does not prevent secrets from being pasted into prompts. Teams are advised to combine Privacy Mode, a deny-by-default sandbox, security hooks with failClosed where appropriate, MCP review, and an audit trail of agent file access.
Tax year 2026 introduces two new Box 12 codes on Form W-2: TP for reporting tips and TT for qualified overtime compensation. The IRS instructions say the amounts support deductions allowed under P.L. 119-21, including up to $12,500 ($25,000 for joint filers) for overtime in tax years beginning after 2024 and before 2029. Mandatory service charges generally do not count as qualified tips and should be kept out of TP, and any TP entry requires an occupation code in Box 14b. TT covers only the premium half of FLSA-required time-and-a-half pay, so payroll systems must separate that overtime from overtime paid under state rules or company policy. Forms W-2 and W-3 are due to the SSA by February 1, 2027, and the article recommends reconciling these figures in December. This is educational material, and readers should confirm details with current IRS instructions and a tax professional.
OpenAI launched GPT-6.1 Terra on October 26, 2026, a mid-tier model designed to operate computers by reading screens, clicking, typing, and switching between apps to complete multi-step tasks. Priced at $1 per million input tokens and $5 per million output tokens, it costs half as much as its predecessor, GPT-5.6 Terra. The model is available to paid ChatGPT Work and Codex users, on Amazon Bedrock, and in GitHub Copilot, while free and Go plans continue to use GPT-5.6 Terra. OpenAI's performance claims, including gains on professional computer tasks and terminal benchmarks, are self-reported and have not yet been independently verified. The company positions Terra for high-volume routine automation, with its more powerful Sol and Astra models reserved for the hardest coding and reasoning work.
A new guide explains how to monitor open job postings at multiple startups without writing custom code, since each company's careers page uses an applicant tracking system such as Greenhouse, Lever or Ashby. It describes using a prebuilt Apify Actor that reads each system's public job-board API and merges the results into one table. In a test run on October 31, 2026, eight companies had 1,301 open roles, of which 88 were engineering positions posted in the previous 30 days. The setup can also be configured to deliver only newly published listings each morning. The author presents hiring activity as a useful signal of a company's growth plans or shifting priorities.
