NASA launches $500,000 challenge to improve space weather predictions

The initiative seeks to improve the accuracy of predictions related to satellite orbit changes caused by atmospheric drag. Winners of the competition stand to receive up to $500,000 in prize money for their concepts. In addition to the financial reward, selected participants will also be offered a complimentary test flight to validate their technologies in real conditions.
