Prashant Kishor contests Bankipur bypoll to challenge caste politics and BJP dominance

Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor has entered the Bankipur Assembly by-election, a traditional BJP stronghold in Bihar. He says his goal is to encourage voters to move beyond caste and religious loyalties rather than simply winning the seat. Kishor has criticised the sitting BJP MLA for vacating the constituency after being elevated to the Rajya Sabha, calling it a betrayal of voters. He cited senior BJP leader Amit Shah as a contrasting example of political accountability. Through this contest, Kishor also seeks to challenge what he describes as the BJP's arrogance and its underestimation of Bankipur's educated electorate.
