Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has had a standout 2026, topping Rajasthan Royals' run charts with 776 IPL runs and smashing 94 off 29 balls in a List A tri-series final against Sri Lanka 'A' in Colombo. The teenager made his senior India debut against England in July before embarking on a successful Zimbabwe tour. He finished as the series' leading run-scorer with 151 runs and was named Player of the Series. Across six T20I innings, Sooryavanshi has accumulated 193 runs at a remarkable strike rate of 189.21. However, former India head coach Rahul Dravid has flagged concerns about how Sooryavanshi's aggressive batting style might translate to the Test format.

Indian wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan has expressed a deep love for red-ball cricket, despite rarely being associated with the format.
