India's Russian Crude Imports Hit Record 2.8 Million Barrels Daily in July

India imported a record 2.8 million barrels of Russian crude oil per day in July, the highest level since the Ukraine war began. Russian crude accounted for more than half of India's total crude oil purchases that month. On the LPG front, the United States dominated supplies, contributing 73% of India's total LPG imports in July. Indian refiners also stepped up purchases from West Asian producers as flows through the Strait of Hormuz returned to normal. Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Kuwait all recorded increased crude exports to India during this period.
