OpenAI Codex Head Says Design Jobs Safe as AI Struggles With Human Creativity

Andrew Ambrosino, head of OpenAI's Codex, has stated that creative and design professionals are less threatened by AI displacement compared to other fields. He explained that design's subjective nature makes it significantly harder to train AI systems than objective, rule-based tasks like coding. While AI can handle technical execution effectively, human judgment and aesthetic sensibility remain difficult to replicate. This has given rise to a collaborative approach dubbed 'vibecoding,' where designers direct and guide AI's creative output rather than being replaced by it.
