OpenAI Claims AI Solved 90-Year-Old Navier-Stokes Math Problem

OpenAI announced on Tuesday that it has found a solution to the Navier-Stokes problem, a mathematical challenge related to fluid and gas flow that has remained unsolved for roughly 90 years. The breakthrough was reportedly achieved using an internal AI model more advanced than the recently released GPT-6 Astra, operating with 10,000 simultaneous agents. Training on the internal model began on August 28th, according to OpenAI. The Navier-Stokes problem is one of seven Millennium Prize Problems, each carrying a $1 million reward for a verified solution.
