Scientists have officially identified a new wild cat species living in the cloud forests of Bolivia. The small, slender cat has been formally named Tilcayo, a name long used by local communities who have known of the animal for generations. Genetic analysis confirmed that Tilcayo is genetically distinct from all other known tiger cat species.
