A 65-year-old disabled passenger, Kirpal Singh, encountered serious problems while travelling from Amritsar to London. He did not receive the wheelchair assistance he had requested at Istanbul airport, leaving him waiting there for nearly a day. Delays to his checked-in baggage also meant he missed a connecting flight to Toronto after reaching London. After he lodged complaints, a consumer commission directed both airlines to compensate him for the harassment he endured.
