Puducherry offers up to Rs 40,000 to ex-servicemen for thatched home repairs

Puducherry's Sainik Welfare Department has launched a financial assistance scheme to help ex-servicemen maintain their thatched homes. Eligible veterans and their families can receive grants of up to Rs 40,000 to cover re-thatching and general repair expenses. Once approved, the funds are transferred directly to the beneficiaries' bank accounts. Applications must be submitted offline through the Rajya Sainik Board, which oversees the process.
