Kerala consumer panel orders travel agency to pay Rs 1.12 lakh for cancelled Bali tour

A Kerala consumer commission has directed a travel agency to refund Rs 82,500 after it failed to operate a Bali tour for which a customer had already paid. The commission ruled that the agency's conduct amounted to deficiency in service and an unfair trade practice. In addition to the refund, the panel awarded compensation for mental distress caused to the customer, along with litigation costs, bringing the total payout to Rs 1.12 lakh. The travel agency has been given 45 days to comply with the order.
