Mumbai Mayor Orders Fresh Probe into Chembur Tree Crash That Killed Child

Mumbai Mayor Ritu Tawde has rejected the BMC's inquiry report into a tree collapse incident in Chembur and ordered a new investigation. The crash resulted in the death of an 11-year-old boy named Vihaan Srivastav. Elected corporators criticised the original report for failing to establish clear accountability for the child's death. The inquiry had imposed only a minor penalty on the contractor involved, which was widely considered inadequate. Vihaan's father also raised concerns about the lack of transparency in the investigation process.
